I read many reviews and looked at several dishwashers before deciding on this one. I bought my washer from Home Depot for less than $600 and it was delivered and my old 10 year old washer was hauled off. Before I got this washer, I pretty much had to pre-wash all of my dishes but with the GE, I can put my dishes and pots straight in and with steam, hot start and normal wash settings, my dishes are coming out super clean. The washer is very quite and I was able to install it myself without much trouble. The stainless steel look really dressed up my kitchen as well. ***Update Arpil 2010*** There is problem with the door latch and the sensor will lose contact and stop the wash cycle. I have had my washer repair, a new control panel and door latch installed and 2 weeks later the problem has come back. The tech that did the repair said that this is a common problem with GE washing machines that do not use a postive locking handle.
