I wasn't going to purchase such an expensive vacuum but my husband really talked Dyson up. Then our dog had puppies and there was dog hair everywhere so I caved. When we first used it I thought it was the best vacuum on the planet but we've had it since November and I've learned to absolutely hate it. It can pick up the tiniest piece of dust but not a small piece of paper? Also it is always, always saying there's an obstruction. So instead of taking 15 minutes to vacuum one room it ends up taking two hours. Hate this vacuum!!!

I'm usually not the type to waste my time writing reviews, but I do read them before I purchase :-). Anyways this vaccuum is beautiful just so easy to use. My dogs had matted some areas in my house and I never thought they'd come back to normal but no BS my carpet looks brand new again (just from vaccumming)! My carpet is 3yrs. old and my house etc... It has the push button technology to dump your dirt so I just drop it in the toilet and wait until she fills up again. Anyways all in all I haven't even gotten into it and the extensions/filters etc... Screw Hoover, Dirt Devil, Shark etc... Dyson owns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We bought this vacuum overe 6 motns ago. It worked great at picking up deep carpet dirt and animal hair. But 3 months later it broke (you could not switch settings). We took it into the authorized repair facility and they said they would have it fixed in a week or so. Now 3 months later we still do not have a vacuum. We have called Dyson Customer service at first they said the part was on back order, then a month ago we were told the part would ship on a Monday. As of 5/5/2010 we still do not have a vacuum to speak of. If this is how Dyson stands behind their vacuums then I would recommend everyone to stay away. If your vacuum breaks you are going to be out the cost of a vacuum.
