Don't buy it! I owned a Hoover Windtunnel, self-propelled upright for over 20 years and it was the best vacuum I've ever had. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and it died. Rather than spend the money fixing an old machine, I decided to purchase a new one. I opted for a canister, because I have a lot of hardwood flooring and figured the canister would be easier to drag around the house. The machine was delivered the first week of April (2010). Today (May 8, 2010) I used the vacuum for the 4th time, and it broke. The agitator got caught on a small piece of material, I heard a snap, and the agitator stopped working. Many things got caught on my old machine, and it kept on going. Hoover used to make a good product. This machine is totally inferior. Additionally, it DOES NOT do a good job on carpets. Small pieces of lint have to be gone over several times before they're picked up. Hoover's standards have certainly gone downhill, and I will never buy one of their products again.
